The Erie County Chamber of Commerce provides a myriad of services to its members and to the general public. And, in many cases, Chamber members receive most services as part of their annual membership fees, with no additional charges. Listed below are the services currently available from the Chamber...

CERTIFICATE OF OPENING: An attractive, personalized certificate presented to a new business to recognize and commemorate its opening.

BUYERS GUIDE: A listing of Chamber members, by business type, which is provided as part of the New Resident Information Packet, or to individuals who want a free listing of Chamber members. Listing in the guide is automatic with membership.  The purpose of the Buyers Guide is to present the names of Chamber members to potential new customers or clients before they see the names of competing businesses that are not Chamber members.

NEW RESIDENT INFORMATION PACKET: This packet of information includes (1) a New Resident Guide, which helps new residents get "settled in"; (2) the Buyers Guide; (3) the Community Booklet; (4) an area map; (5) a state highway map if the individual is moving from out-of-state; (6) a church directory; (7) the Sandusky Library’s Guide to Local Elected Officials; and (8) the Sandusky/Erie County Visitor & Convention Bureau’s "Buckeye North" tourist guide. Information contained in these packets can be made available to members at no charge. Completed packets are available at $5.00 each.

AREA & STATE MAPS: The staple of every local chamber, our maps include Sandusky, Huron, Castalia, Erie County and surrounding area. State highway maps are also available, which are provided by the Ohio Department of Transportation.

INDUSTRY DIRECTORY: This directory lists all the industries located in Erie County, regardless of membership in the Chamber, and includes company name, address, telephone and fax numbers, key personnel, employment range, and product line.

Industry Directories are sold to non-members, but are available free of charge to members.

MEMBERSHIP DIRECTORY: An alphabetical listing of all Chamber-member companies and organizations, the directory includes addresses and telephone numbers, and the key person at each member business.

This directory is available ONLY to Chamber members. It is often used as a marketing or communication tool.

CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS DIRECTORY: This listing of the various clubs and organizations in the County includes their addresses, telephone numbers, and key contact person.

These directories are made available for a fee to non-members and free of charge to members. They are also good marketing tools for certain businesses.

MEDIA GUIDE: The Chamber’s Media Guide can be helpful in planning an advertising campaign, or just for having an appropriate contact name. The guide lists Erie County’s & member media by type, and includes addresses, telephone numbers, key contact person, program formats, hours of operation, and wattage or circulation.

CERTIFICATES OF ORIGIN: A necessity for manufacturers that export. The Chamber provides blank certificates, and also "signs off" on completed certificates. Certificates of Origin testify to the fact that the goods being shipped are of U.S. manufacture and content. The Chamber does not charge member manufacturers for this service.

STUDENT INFORMATION PACKETS: The Chamber assists hundreds of elementary and middle school students around Ohio and the nation with their history and geography assignments, by providing an information packet about the area. They are made available to students at no charge.

COST OF LIVING INFORMATION: The Chamber subscribes to and maintains a file of monthly Consumer Price Index reports, and can assist in comparing Erie County’s cost of living with other communities throughout the nation.

DEMOGRAPHIC INFORMATION: The Chamber maintains a vast amount of demographic information on all the political subdivisions within Erie County. This information is valuable in a variety of ways, such as the development of business plans, or as part of a personnel recruitment efforts.

Telephone Directories: The Chamber is a distribution location for both AT&T and User Friendly  telephone directories, and also maintains a small library of telephone directories from other Ohio communities;

City Directories: Current and past Sandusky city directories, as well as a number from other Ohio cities are available for use at the Chamber office;

Industry Directories: In addition to publishing its own Erie County Industry Directory, the Chamber library contains an Ohio Industry Directory.

Johnson Chamber Directory: The Johnson Chamber Directory provides the names, address, telephone numbers, key contact, and other vital information of every local and state chamber in the United States and Canada. It also includes similar information on various economic development organizations and visitors bureaus, American chambers of commerce abroad, foreign tourist bureaus, foreign & ethnic chambers of commerce located in the United States, a congressional listing, and listings of embassies, both U. S. locations in foreign lands and foreign embassies in the U.S.;

Small Business Aids, which includes self-help books, tapes, and videos;

Dickman Criss-Cross Directory, which provides the name, address, and telephone number of every resident and business in the County by alphabetical listing of streets.

There is other topical and miscellaneous information that the Chamber maintains, which is why it enjoys the reputation of THE place to call if you have a question about something.

LEGISLATIVE DIRECTORIES: The Chamber is the place to call if you need to know the name, address, and telephone number of any local, state or national elected official. Up-to-date information is maintained at all times.

MONTHLY NEWSLETTER: Chamber members can expect to receive their copy of the "Erie County Business Briefs" during the first week of every month. This four-page newsletter will keep you up-to-date on Chamber happenings, as well as provide information on items of interest, such as state-wide seminars, that are going on elsewhere. The news- letter can be e-mailed to you, if requested.

NEWSLETTER INSERTS: This service, available to Chamber members only, provides a unique and noticeable way to inform fellow members about a product, service, or program special that your business or organization is offering. They reach a reading audience of approximately 900 of the key people in the community. Placement guidelines are available from the Chamber.

GROUP LONG DISTANCE TELEPHONE SERVICE: Chamber members can save on their long distance telephone bills by signing on their long distance service with First Communications/Chamber Group Plan.

GROUP WORKERS’ COMPENSATION PROGRAM: Made available through your choice of Comp Management, Inc. or V&A Risk Services, this program can save thousands of dollars in workers’ compensation premiums to qualified chamber members.
